Tejuelo is a bookmarking app for the Mac. One keystroke saves the page you are reading, and another opens a search panel over the app you are in. Type a few letters and the link opens in your browser.
Who makes it
I’m Alberto Gallego. I’ve worked on my own since 2019, building small apps for the Mac, iOS and the web, and I write and take photographs at albertogalca.com. Tejuelo is a one-person project: I design it, build it and answer the email about it.
Why it exists
I kept links in notes, in browser bookmarks and in open tabs, and I couldn’t find them when I needed them. Tejuelo is built around getting a link back, not around filing it. Search ranks what you open most, dead links get flagged, and the app stays out of the way the rest of the time.
The name
A tejuelo is the small label on the spine of a library book, the one that says where it lives on the shelf. That’s the job: every link you keep, with a place.
How it’s made
Tejuelo is a native Mac app written in SwiftUI. Your bookmarks live in SwiftData on your Mac and sync through your own iCloud account, so there’s no sign-up and no server of mine in between. The download is 7 MB and the app is free.
